Hundreds of National Express West Midlands customers have come forward to talk about how the bus company’s new off-peak daysaver ticket has helped save their day.
The region’s largest bus operator recently launched a weekly #DaySaved competition, which runs until the end of this month, and gives customers the opportunity to win a day out at some of the West Midlands’ best attractions.
Customer Jodie Langsford and her mother both had their #DaySaved by National Express West Midlands when Jodie went into labour.
Jodie, 26, from Northfield, said: “I was heavily pregnant and suffering from back pain. I didn't know at the time but I was in labour! A kind hearted bus driver waited for me to cross the road and dropped me right outside the doctors for me to see the midwife who sent me to hospital. My mom was in the city centre on jury service and the bus brought her straight to the hospital so she was there in time for the birth of her first grandchild. It was a #DaySaved moment twice that day!”
By leaving the car at home and taking the bus, customers can avoid expensive hospital car parking charges by buying the off-peak daysaver for £4.
Gina Harley, 35, got more than she bargained for when she got on the number 11 bus. The off-peak daysaver provides a day of unlimited travel on National Express West Midlands buses, meaning she enjoyed a great day out on and around the infamous 27-mile-long route.
Gina, from Yardley, said: “My six year old daughter and I had an unexpected journey around the whole 11 route. We just jumped on the bus, unsure on where to go and jumped off when somewhere looked good to visit. We ended up travelling through Acocks Green, Kings Heath, Erdington and Perry Barr, visiting a number of places along the way including shops, parks and places to eat. During the journey itself we played games. It was a great unexpected day out which we both loved #DaySaved.”
With the half-term school holiday this week, buying an off-peak daysaver is the perfect way to enjoy the region’s attractions on a family day out. Any adult with an off-peak daysaver can take up to three children aged 5-15 for just £1 each.
For the great value price of £4, adults can buy the off-peak daysaver and enjoy a day of unlimited travel on National Express West Midlands buses. The ticket can be purchased on weekdays after 09:30, or anytime on Saturday or Sunday.
Customers benefit from even better value when the off-peak daysaver ticket is bought with a Swift Pay As You Go card, getting a day of unlimited travel for the reduced price of £3.80.
