Happy Birthday Number 11!

This week we're celebrating the 90th Birthday of the Route 11 in a new and refreshing way!

Originally started all the way back in 1926, the route has endured the test of time, immortalised by the works of Birmingham band Woodbine's track "Outer Circle" as well as being featured by Comedian Frank Skinner on BBC Radio 5 back in 1993.

To mark the occasion Two Tower Brewery has produced a  a No. 11 beer in honour of the historic route. With the help of Network West Midlands and TFWM we've been able to start the Number 11 Ale Trail, allowing passengers to not only enjoy the charm of Europe's longest urban bus route. But also being able to visit the various pubs along the route that will stock the commemorative brew, each of these pubs will have a stamp to collect, those who successfully visit all 11 pubs on the trail can be entered into a monthly prize draw to win amazing prizes.

Managing Director of National Express West Midlands Peter Coates said "Let us be your designated driver for the number 11 Ale trail. The number 11 bus runs every 8 mins and all the stops near the Ale Trail pubs have live information screens so you don't waste valuable drinking time waiting for a bus!"

The beer has been described as "A very pale, straw coloured ale, with light fruit flavours"
