A survey of staff and passengers at National Express West Midlands has uncovered the most popular attractions in the West Midlands.
Topping the list are the big retail destinations such as Touchwood, Bullring and intu Merry Hill, but encouragingly the second most popular destination is the local high street.
A survey of 281 National Express West Midlands bus drivers, staff and passengers was conducted to launch the bus company’s latest ‘Off-peak Day Saver’ campaign to highlight the ever increasing array of attractions accessible all over the region by bus. The ‘Day Saved’ campaign is running across the West Midlands for six weeks and includes a weekly competition on Facebook to win experiences at the top destinations by bus.
The survey, which quizzed National Express West Midlands customers and staff on their favourite bus destinations, highlighted the variety of destinations visited by bus travellers. Perhaps the most interesting result is that local parks are one of the most popular destinations; these came third in the staff poll. And, while the major shopping destinations are top with 54% of the vote, respondents still see an evening out at the theatre or cinema as a great destination.
Other top Attractions include Dudley Zoo, Birmingham’s Sea Life Centre, Thinktank Birmingham Science Museum, and Cadbury World among many others.
Steve Knights from National Express West Midlands commented: “We wanted to highlight the many fabulous destinations all over the region which can be easily and affordably accessed by bus. We are extremely proud of our rich variety of attractions and destinations in the West Midlands so we wanted to illustrate everything on offer.”
